Five Ways for Swingers to Break Up With Other Couples:
Lifestyle Tips for Matchmaking in Northvale, NJ and Your Local Area
By Lifestyle Expert Robyn Scott
Swinging can be very similar to dating in some aspects.
While trying to make the score can sometimes be a hard task, it can be even more
difficult to break it off with a couple after your interests have waned. Here
are a few pointers that can help lifestyle couples make the break while leaving
everyone's dignity reasonably intact.
1. Be Straight Forward
Some couples prefer to have multiple encounters with other
couples if the chemistry is right. If for some reason, the attraction or
interest has left one or both of you feeling that the spark is gone, sometimes
honesty is the best approach. If you feel that the other couple is capable of
handling the news, just be truthful. It may sting a bit to end the affair, but
the other couple may admire your honesty and willingness to take this risk.
2. The Disclaimer
Here's a way to give yourselves an 'out' before any
playtime ever occurs. In your profile, state that your interests in the
lifestyle are that of friendship and fun, with anything else being a bonus. Of
course, if this is not true then you shouldn't state it. If this is your style
though, make it very clear in your profile. Here is the next piece of your
disclaimer- Make a statement that clarifies your bedtime expectations. For
example, this is a handy blanket statement: We enjoy making friends in the
lifestyle, and the benefits are just that, benefits. Normally, we rarely engage
in repeated encounters with couples, but wish to maintain friendships after
playtime. If you seek long term bedtime benefits, we may not feel the same way.
This allows you to be more in control. If you do play with
a couple more than once, then not only do you have the disclaimer at hand in
your profile to enable you to cut it off, but they feel more special to be 'that
couple' for whom you made the exception of multiple encounters.
3. The Soft Serve
If a couple persists in wanting to continue the bedtime
fun, but they don't seem to be the type that will take honesty well, here is
another way. Tell them that you aren't seeking active playtime relationships in
the lifestyle for the time being because you have other things to focus on at
the moment. Let them know that in the future you can perhaps reconnect.
4. Keep the Friendship
Sometimes a couple comes along that is so much fun to be
with, that you can't fathom cutting them out of your lives altogether. Playtime
chemistry may not be there, but the bond is otherwise worthwhile. Tell this
couple that you can't imagine not having them around, but the bedtime fun may
not continue. You don't want to give them false hope, and this should be
mentioned. Chances are, if they do wish to be friends, they will give it a
chance.
5. Excuses
There will always be the couple that is more than
persistent in more swinging fun, but they just can't take a hint. This is when
multiple excuses come in handy. You have an event to attend when they want to
schedule a date. You aren't feeling up to going out with them tonight because
you're feeling under the weather. You already have a lifestyle date set up.
Your female half is experiencing her time of the month. Use a believable excuse
that won't end up burning you. In most cases, they will eventually tire of
pursuing you and move on to their next prospect.
