Body Maintenance for Swingers: Tips to Turn Your
Partners On
For Lifestyle Couples in Hagåtña, Guam and Your Local
Area
By Lifestyle Expert Robyn Scott
Let's face it. When couples are in relationships for a
long period of time, bodily maintenance and grooming can sometimes become less
of a priority. Even if we keep our hygiene and grooming habits in check, we may
not be aware of what other swingers want, especially when we first enter the
lifestyle.
For some tips in this area, look no further.
Deodorant
This may be obvious, but deodorant needs to be high on the
priority list. This doesn't mean that the initial application is enough. At
parties, people tend to do a good deal of dancing. With bodies packed tightly,
heat levels rise and your body responds. Some swing venues supply spray
deodorant in the bathrooms. Don't count on it though. Carry along a
travel-sized stick of deodorant and re-apply as needed. Ladies, watch out for
the chalky white stuff. Those sexy little outfits don't look so hot with powder
streaks on them. Opt for a clear anti-persperant for nights out.

Ladies and Gentlemen: Whether you anticipate play
or not for the evening, scrub your genitals thoroughly. Before play, clean them
again. Men, this can be as simple as using a wet towel or cloth to give your
naughty bits a good once-over. Tight pants and dancing can produce an
unpleasant odor. You don't want a woman comparing your scent to a bag of corn
chips. It's not conducive to getting her to keep her mouth anywhere near that
area. Ladies need to pay even closer attention to keeping odors at bay during
the evening. Especially after working up a sweat on the dance floor, ladies
need to make sure the area stays fresh. Feminine deodorants are great for
initial application and masking any scents, but they do not account for tastes.
Your genitals should smell pleasant and taste fresh. If there will not
be access to a nice washcloth and soap for pre-play cleansing, carry personal
wipes that will not only remove any lingering odors, but also will not leave an
odd taste behind.
Shaving
The majority of lifestylers appreciate their partners' body
hair to be well-groomed. Men, the more conscientious you are about grooming
your body hair, the more appreciative the ladies will be. Although there are
certainly exceptions, many women enjoy a clean-shaven scrotum and shaft.
Managing unruly pubic hairs around the base of the penis is also recommended.
This general philosophy goes for women as well. Many men
and women prefer to remove all or almost all of the hair in the pubic region.
If you prefer to leave hair there, keep it trimmed and attractive. A general
rule for keeping pubic hair attractive is this: If it will be visible while
wearing a small bikini bottom, shave it off. Keeping hair away from the
clitoral area is vital, since your partner needs to 'work' down there. Many
ladies also prefer to shave around the anus, especially if play is desired
there.
Remember, oral sex should not include 'flossing'. Tame the
beast.
Shaving Tips
Use a fresh blade and be sure to prep the area with plenty
of soap first. Do not go over and over the area with the razor, as this will
produce unsightly red bumps and/or bleeding. If this occurs regularly when you
shave, invest in shaving irritation gel that can be applied immediately after
shaving. Use a mirror to help you see areas that can be missed otherwise.
Trying to shave blindly without ample experience can lead to patches of leftover
hair or cutting yourself in sensitive spots.
Odors Due to Ingestion
This is an area that people tend to miss when considering
hygiene. Our bodies have the tendency to emit certain scents based on what we
ingest. Excessive garlic or onions can affect your body's pores, making your
scent a bit odd. Mucous membranes, such as a woman's inner labia, can amplify a
scent. Smoking can adversely affect a woman's scent, as well as excess hard
alcohol. These things can literally make a woman smell like what she ingests.
For men and women, kissing after smoking or liquor ingestion can make you taste
unpleasant. Marijuana is another strong odor that lingers on clothes, hair and
saliva.
Breath
Continuing the theme of the above topic, breath is also
extremely important. Bad breath can be an instant deal breaker for some. Carry
a travel-sized mouthwash, especially if you plan on drinking and/or smoking. If
needed, carry a toothbrush to brush your teeth prior to sexual activity.
Perfume and Cologne
While a little bit of enhanced scents are pleasant on
anyone, remember to use in moderation. There is a difference between having a
subtle impact with your enhanced scent and smelling like you marinated in your
cologne. Go easy.
